founder’s bio
Lauren Zimet, M.S.,CCC/SLP works with
children with varying diagnoses and consults
with families on speech, language and early
communication issues. She also consults with new and
soon-to-be-new parents on the many issues of
raising a newborn. Her practice includes private
consultations, group workshops, classes and
seminars.
After receiving her Masters in Speech Language
Pathology in 1995, Lauren worked in hospitals,
rehabilitation clinics, and preschool and early
intervention programs in New York and New
Jersey. In 2001 Lauren relocated to the Atlanta
area and established a private practice, Early
Insights, LLC.
Desiring to work with children from a more
integrative approach, Lauren sought her degree
in Neurodevelopmental Training (NDT), June 1998,
under the direction of Monica Wojick, M.S., CCC/SLP
and Suzanne Davis, PT. The NDT framework,
encourages the therapist to work with the whole
person - looking beyond the surface challenges
to the neurological basis. NDT is a treatment
perspective, which uses diagonal movement
patterns, gradation of input and facilitation or
inhibition of movement to improve independent
performance of a task.
Lauren's approach is holistic in nature.
Inspired by her young daughter, Lauren is
continuing her education in the field of health,
wellness, and nutrition.
Lauren received her Bachelor of Science degree
in Communications at the University of Maryland
in College Park, MD, and her Master's Degree in
Speech Language Pathology from Nova Southeastern
University, Ft. Lauderdale, FL in 1995. She
participates in numerous continuing education
programs.
Lauren's work has been featured in: The LCP
Solution by Dr. Jacqueline Stordy and Malcolm
Nicholl, Baby Love by Sheila Ellison, and The
Late Talker, by Dr. Marilyn Agin and Lisa Geng.
